Walking through a Residual Rift and/or Rift Portal puts the ally into the opposite plane (doesn’t matter if they are Banished or Rift Walking currently) Limbo deactivating Rift Walk will not affect ally players’ Rift Walk instance, instead it only closes the Rift Portal. The Rift Portal allows allies only (not Limbo himself, see synergy below) to enter/exit the rift at will, inheriting 100% of the current remaining duration on Rift Walk. Ally Opt-in/out: Upon cast, creates a portal where Limbo stands. If Rift Walk is active, Limbo’s Banish instance (if he walked through his Residual Rift to get banished) ends and cannot enter/exit the rift via Residual Rift (see Rift Walk section for synergy)Īny pickups, carryable items, and interactive objects (but not mission objectives, they're too big) are inside the Rift Plane when inside the Residual Rift.īanished players and enemies’ particle effects are now colored in Limbo’s energy color to help distinguish them from enemies inside Cataclysm. Recasting Banish removes the old instance and creates a new instance at the new location. Only 1 Residual Rift may be active at a time. Residual Rift duration is the same as Banish, but is an independent object that will expire on its own timer. Ally Opt-in/out: Residual Rift allows allies and Limbo to enter/exit the rift at will when moving through it, inheriting 100% of the current remaining duration of Banish. The size of the residual rift is not affected by Power Range. Residual Rift: On each cast, Banish leaves behind a 5 m radius Residual Rift at the target’s location at time of cast. Please note all existing functions of the abilities remain intact: After reading the synergies, you will see that the doors to the rift are always opened to friends, and occasionally to enemies for our advantage. These changes aim to preserve our way of life with Limbo while adding onto his capabilities, with a heavy emphasis of inter-ability synergy (since to maximize Limbo’s power, all abilities have to be used in tandem). Having used Limbo since his release, I can say for certain that I like his current playstyles, I like his aesthetics, and I like his complexity, but like many others I would also like to see him used more often and contribute more in a team setting. Limbo, the dapper strategist that takes the phrase “divide and conquer” very literally, is in a state that can be described by his very name.
